Ultraviolet Laser Applied to PVC Laser Cutting

PVC is a common material in daily life, with high plasticity and non-toxicity. The heat resistance of PVC material makes processing difficult, but the high-precision temperature-controlled ultraviolet laser brings PVC cutting into a new direction. UV laser chiller helps UV laser process PVC material stably.

PVC is a common material in daily life, which is widely applicable to home improvement boards, doors & windows, toys, stationeries, bags and suitcases, etc. The main component of PVC is polyvinyl chloride, a type of plastic with unique advantages. Here, S&A chiller would like to take this opportunity to tell you:

PVC material has high plasticity. It is soft, cold-resistant, scratch-proof, acid and alkali resistant, corrosion resistant, tear resistant, excellent in weldability, and its physical performance is superior to rubber and other coiled materials.

PVC material is non-toxic, poses no harm or irritation to humans, and can be used by people who are allergic to wood and paint. All PVC-film packaged furniture or kitchenware is very suitable. As a decorative film, PVC film can reduce the use of wood, particularly good for environmental protection. However, stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, colors, impact agents and other additives are often added in the processing of PVC material. And if there is no fully polymerized monomer or degradation product, it will contain certain toxicity.

The thermolability of PVC material causes processing difficulty

PVC material has various advantages, but its thermolability once made PVC a processing nightmare. For a long time, PVC material is cut with various blades, but it is difficult for the cutters to efficiently process irregular or specially customized shapes. Laser cutting is difficult. Once the cutting temperature is not controlled properly, burrs will appear on the edges.

Ultraviolet laser with high-precision temperature control takes PVC cutting in a new direction

Some laser companies use 20W high-power UV lasers to cut PVC materials. As a cold light, the ultraviolet laser can tackle the problem of PVC hot working. The UV laser cutter has precise cutting temperature control and a small heat-affected surface. Thus PVC materials cut by the UV laser cutter feature smooth edges, efficient processing and good quality control. UV laser provides the optimal solution for PVC cutting.

In that sense, high-precision temperature control is the key to PVC material processing. UV laser, the cold light source, is very sensitive to temperature. If the temperature is not controlled properly, it will affect the light output and stability of the UV laser. So a UV laser chiller is needed to ensure the normal operation of the UV laser. S&A UV laser water chiller with ±0.1℃ temperature stability can meet the need for UV laser for ultra-precise temperature control. Its water temperature is not affected by the environment and its temperature stability is maintained by itself, providing a more reliable cooling solution for ultraviolet laser devices.
