In summer, temperatures soar, and high heat and humidity become the norm, affecting the laser machine's performance and even causing damage due to condensation. Here are some measures to effectively prevent and reduce condensation on lasers during the high-temperature summer months, thus protecting the performance and extending the lifespan of your laser equipment.
In summer, temperatures soar, and high heat and humidity become the norm. For precision equipment that relies on lasers, such environmental conditions can not only affect performance but also cause damage due to condensation. Therefore, understanding and implementing effective anti-condensation measures is crucial.
1. Focus on Preventing Condensation
In summer, due to the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors, condensation can easily form on the surface of lasers and their components, which is highly detrimental to the equipment. To prevent this:
Adjust Cooling Water Temperature: Set the cooling water temperature between 30-32℃, ensuring the temperature difference with the room temperature does not exceed 7℃. This helps reduce the possibility of condensation.
Follow Proper Shutdown Sequence: When shutting down, turn off the water cooler first, then the laser. This avoids moisture or condensation forming on the equipment due to temperature differences when the machine is off.
Maintain a Constant Temperature Environment: During harsh hot and humid weather, use air conditioning to maintain a constant indoor temperature, or turn on the air conditioner half an hour before starting the equipment to create a stable working environment.
2. Pay Close Attention to the Cooling System
High temperatures increase the workload on the cooling system. Therefore:
Inspect and Maintain the Water Chiller: Before the high-temperature season starts, perform a thorough inspection and maintenance of the cooling system.
Choose Suitable Cooling Water: Use distilled or purified water and regularly clean the scale to ensure the interior of the laser and pipes remain clean, thus maintaining laser power.
3. Ensure the Cabinet is Sealed
To maintain integrity, fiber laser cabinets are designed to be sealed. It is advised to:
Regularly Check Cabinet Doors: Ensure all cabinet doors are tightly closed.
Inspect Communication Control Interfaces: Regularly check the protective covers on the communication control interfaces at the back of the cabinet. Ensure they are properly covered and that used interfaces are securely fastened.
4. Follow the Correct Startup Sequence
To prevent hot and humid air from entering the laser cabinet, follow these steps when starting up:
Start the Main Power First: Turn on the main power of the laser machine (without emitting light) and let the enclosure cooling unit run for 30 minutes to stabilize the internal temperature and humidity.
Start the Water Chiller: Once the water temperature stabilizes, turn on the laser machine.
By implementing these measures, you can effectively prevent and reduce condensation on lasers during the high-temperature summer months, thus protecting the performance and extending the lifespan of your laser equipment.
