In some countries or regions, the temperature in winter will reach below 0°C, which will cause the industrial chiller cooling water to freeze and not operate normally. Therefore, it's necessary to add refrigerant to the chiller water circulation system to prevent freezing and enable the chiller to operate normally. So, how to choose the industrial chiller antifreeze?

The selected chiller antifreeze should preferably have these characteristics, which are better for the freezer: (1) Good anti-freezing performance; (2) Anti-corrosion and anti-rust properties; (3) No swelling and erosion properties for rubber-sealed conduits; (4) Low viscosity at low temperature; (5) Chemically stable.

The 100% concentration antifreeze currently available in the market can be used directly. There is also an antifreeze mother solution(concentrated antifreeze) that generally cannot be used directly, but should be adjusted with demineralized water to a certain concentration according to the operating temperature requirements. It should be noted that some of the brand antifreeze on the market are compound formulas, which add additives with functions such as anti-corrosion and viscosity adjustment. You can choose the appropriate antifreeze according to your needs.

There are three principles for the use of chiller antifreeze: (1) The lower the concentration, the better. Antifreeze is mostly corrosive, and the lower the concentration, the better when the antifreeze performance is met. (2) The shorter the use time, the better. The antifreeze will deteriorate to a certain extent after being used for a long time. After the antifreeze deteriorates, it will be more corrosive and its viscosity will change. Therefore, it needs to be replaced regularly, and the replacement cycle is recommended to be replaced once a year. You can use pure water in summer and replace it with new antifreeze in winter. (3) It is not advisable to mix them. Try to use the same brand of antifreeze. Even if the main components of different types of antifreeze are the same, the additive formula will be different. It is not advisable to mix them to avoid a chemical reaction, precipitation or generation of air bubbles.

The semiconductor laser chiller and fiber laser chiller of S&A industrial chiller manufacturer require deionized water for cooling water, so it is not suitable to add antifreeze. When adding antifreeze to the industrial water chiller, pay attention to the above principles, so that the chiller can run normally.
