The application of laser welding robot in industrial sector

As mentioned before, laser welding robot is often equipped with fiber laser. Just like any other laser machines that is supported by fiber laser, laser welding robot also requires a laser chiller system to keep it running normally.

Laser welding machine has got the popularity among users for many years due to its small heat affecting zone, narrow weld seam, high welding intensity with little deformation left in the work pieces. The laser welding technique gradually becomes mature. However, as users’ needs keep changing and the competition in the laser welding industry becomes more and more fierce, laser welding machines are developed to meet more humanized demands. To meet this demands, laser welding robot was invented.

Laser welding robot has a wide variety of applications, including sheet metal processing, automobile, kitchenware, electronic engineering, medical or mold manufacturing industry.

Thanks to advantages of deep penetration welding and heat transfer welding, laser welding robot can be widely used. What’s more, laser welding robot can also perform excellent welding on demanding components without post-processing.

In some new applications, laser welding robot can also be applied. Take multi-layer mechanical components as an example. These components will first be cut by laser cutting machine. Then these components will be organized as a muti-layer structure. Then use the laser welding robot to weld it as a whole item. Mechanical processing can also achieve this result, but the cost is far higher than the above mentioned.

Since laser welding robot often adopts fiber laser as the laser source, it is easy to achieve multi-station and multi-light path processing. This kind of processing method can greatly improve the production efficiency. Laser welding robot is far superior than CO2 laser machine. That is because CO2 laser machine is difficult to achieve multi-light paths. For the time being, there are already many cases about laser welding robot replacing CO2 laser machine in the automation industry with the welding efficiency increasing by more than 30%.

Of course, there will be some challenges in metal welding, for example, the shape of the work piece will become more and more complicated; the customized welding order will increase; the welding quality is becoming more and more demanding... But with laser welding robot, these challenges can all be solved very easily.

As mentioned before, laser welding robot is often equipped with fiber laser. Just like any other laser machines that is supported by fiber laser, laser welding robot also requires a laser chiller system to keep it running normally. And S&A Teyu can help with the CWFL series chillers. CWFL series laser welding chillers are supported by a dual temperature control system applicable to cool the fiber laser source and the welding head at the same time. The temperature stability ranges from ±0.3℃ to ±1℃. Find out more detailed information about CWFL series laser welding robot chillers at https://www.teyuchiller.com/fiber-laser-chillers_c2
