Laser cladding, also known as laser melting deposition or laser coating, is mainly applied in 3 areas: surface modification, surface restoration, and laser additive manufacturing. A laser chiller is an efficient cooling device to enhance cladding speed and efficiency, making the production process more stable.

The Application of Laser Cladding:

1. Surface Modification of materials such as gas turbine blades, rollers, gears, and more.

2. Surface Restoration of products like rotors, molds, etc. Applying laser cladding of super wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloys to critical component surfaces significantly enhances their lifespan without altering their surface structure. Moreover, laser cladding on mold surfaces not only increases their strength but also reduces manufacturing costs by 2/3 and shortens production cycles by 4/5.

3. Laser Additive Manufacturing, employing layer-by-layer laser cladding with synchronized powder or wire feeding to create three-dimensional components. This technique is also referred to as laser melting deposition, laser metal deposition, or laser direct melting deposition.

A Laser Chiller Is Crucial for Laser Cladding Machine

The scope of laser cladding technology spans from surface modification to additive manufacturing, showcasing diverse and significant effects. However, within these processes, temperature control plays an absolutely critical role. During laser cladding, high-energy concentration occurs within a small area, causing an abrupt rise in local temperature. Without proper cooling measures, this high temperature could lead to uneven material melting or crack formation, thus affecting the quality of cladding.

To prevent adverse effects caused by overheating, a cooling system is indispensable. Laser chiller, as a crucial part, effectively regulates the temperature during the laser cladding process, ensuring proper material melting and meeting the expected performance requirements. Additionally, efficient cooling(high-quality laser chiller) aids in enhancing cladding speed and efficiency, making the production process more stable.
