We find some users install an exhaust duct on top of the chiller air outlet/cooling fan in order to avoid heat interference in the room.
However, the exhaust duct will increase the exhaust resistance of the chiller and reduce the exhaust air volume, resulting in heat accumulation in the duct and triggering high temperature alarm of the chiller.
So is it necessary to install an exhaust fan at the end of the exhaust duct?
If the exhaust duct is 1.2 times larger than the sectional area of the chiller fan, and the length of the duct is less than 0.8 meters, and there is no pressure difference between indoor and outdoor air, it is not necessary to install the exhaust fan.
Measure the maximum working current of the chiller before and after installation of the exhaust duct. If the working current increases, it indicates that the duct has a greater impact on the exhaust air volume. The exhaust fan should be installed, or the installed fan power is too low and needs to be replaced by a higher power fan.
