For the time being, the domestic sign industry is mainly using CO2 laser, fiber laser and UV laser.

CO2 laser is the laser source that is used in sign industry in the early time. After long-term technological improvement, its service life can be 4-5 years. After its attenuation, the CO2 laser can just be refilled with CO2 gas and can be used again. For fiber laser, the service life can be 8-10 years. But for UV laser, its service life is normally 2-3 years.

There are several elements that affect the life of the UV laser. Firstly, when UV laser is working, the UV crystal can easily absorb the dust in the laser cavity. Therefore, when the working hour of the UV laser reaches around 20000 hours, the UV crystal will become dirty, leading to decreased power and shortened lifespan.

Another element is the lifespan of the pump-LD. Different pump-LDs from different manufacturers have different lifespan. Therefore, it is important for the UV laser manufacturers to find a reliable pump-LD supplier.

The last one is the cooling system. UV laser is quite sensitive to temperature and if UV laser is in constant high heat, its service life will shortened. Therefore, effective UV laser cooling is quite important.
